The Legacy of Reading

Tiny Heroes and the Gift from Grandma and Grandpa Sheedy

Some legacies are built with bricks and mortar. Others are built with bedtime stories, well-loved pages, and the sound of a voice reading by lamplight. Ours? It’s the latter — a legacy lovingly passed down from Grandma and Grandpa Sheedy.

Long before there were books with our names on the cover, there were books held together by tape and memories. There were rainy afternoons curled up on the couch, and evenings when the world outside faded away while Grandpa read a chapter aloud, or Grandma tucked in one more story “just because.”

Through their voices, we met tiny heroes — brave little characters who dared big things. They weren’t always the strongest or the loudest, but they were kind, curious, and full of heart. Just like the way Grandma and Grandpa read to us: not flashy or fast, but full of warmth and meaning.

That love of reading — and of tiny heroes — lives on in our children’s books. It’s our way of continuing the story they started. A story where even the smallest character can make a difference. A story where love is passed from lap to lap, book to book, heart to heart, generation to generation.

Our greatest hope is that, when families read our books together, they’ll feel a little bit of what we felt sitting beside Grandma and Grandpa Sheedy — safe, inspired, and ready to believe in tiny heroes everywhere.

To Grandma and Grandpa: thank you for showing us that the smallest voices can tell the biggest stories. Our first book is for you — and for every little reader who loves to read or be read to and who dares to dream.
